A Belleville Senator is hoping to take Canada’s hockey team all the way to gold.
Chris Kelly has been named Captain of Canada’s 2018 Olympic team. Kelly was named to the Olympic team on Jan. 11 after representing Canada at the Spengler Cup in December.
The 37-year-old played in 16 games for the Senators collecting two assists and 10 penalty minutes while adding a veteran leadership to a young Sens team over the course of two separate professional tryout agreements.
Hes also suited up in 120 Stanley Cup playoff games adding 12 goals and 32 points.
