Brighton Fire Chief Lloyd Hutchinson is retiring.
Lloyd joined the Fire Department on July 11th 1989. He has held various progressive positions in the department and was Chief for the last eight years.
During his time at the department, he was active in training both Brighton volunteer fire fighters and fire staff County-wide. Lloyd also took responsibility as the municipality’s Community Emergency Management Coordinator and was involved in many committees for fire safety and other community activities.
He also developed and implemented the Brighton Fire Master Plan, which helped to modernize many procedures and policies and updated and standardized equipment in both fire stations and training firefighters for additional coverage, including water and ice rescue.
In 2015, Lloyd implemented Brighton’s emergency notification system, which alerts registered residents of emergency situations or hazards that could effect their health and safety.
He retires on February 28th.
