A McMaster University article earlier this year (Jan 2018) said, “Volunteering promotes a sense of accomplishment, breaks down isolation, (and) improves physical and psychological health.
Ever thought of volunteering but unsure where to start?
Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) is currently looking for you!
Brenda Worsnop has been a volunteer since she retired and is now the Director of Volunteers at NHH. She tells us more about her story.
She says there are many divisions of the hospital you can help out with.
If you decide to go with NHH, you will recieve training, shifts are 2-4 hours and you only have to do 2 a month – and they are always looking for student volunteers as well.
It provides a valuable learning experience in a busy and active hospital environment particularly for those students considering a career in Life Sciences or as a Health Care Professional.
If you’re interested in volunteering at NHH, they’d love to hear from you!
