Picton is now home to Canada’s first Downie-Wenjack Legacy Room. Melissa Larkin of DarkSpark says the room was inspired by a First Nations Chief. His plan is to encourage companies, particularly those in the hospitality sector, to designate special rooms where Indigenous issues can be discussed and reconciliation can become a reality:

From there grade7/8 students at Sophiasburgh Central School participated in a transformative arts-education project to write and record songs in response to Canada’s colonial history. Not just for students, everyone can visit the room and expand their minds.
