Belleville Police Service were kept busy rounding up livestock.
Police spent about five hours Monday night and into Tuesday morning steering cattle back into their pasture, after they were found roaming in the area of Highway 2 and Mitchell Road.
The cows got out through a broken fence and got onto the highway.
Police weren’t able to reach the owner of the livestock right away, but Public Works ended up installing a temporary fence to keep the cattle in.
An investigation continues.
