Hot weather has made its way into the forecast and the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit is reminding residents to beat the heat.
Heat is a health risk that can effect everyone, most notably in infants, elderly people and people with chronic diseases.
Symptoms of heat exhaustion include heavy sweating, muscle cramps, headache, dizziness and nausea.
During extreme hot weather, the Health Unit advise the public to take proper precautions to stay cool such as staying hydrated with lots of water and to avoid staying in the sun a long period of time.
