The Northumberland YMCA has launched the Seniors Moving Forward Program.
It’s a program designed for seniors to promote healthy living and well-being by decreasing incidents of loneliness and isolation.
There will be physical activity session, educational seminars and social engagement platforms, which was made possible by the New Horizons for Seniors grant program.
The original program was intended to be face to face as well as virtual, but the program will be delivered completely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Seniors Moving Forward program is available to those 65 and older who are interested in at home physical activity sessions and interactive presentations and would also like to increase their comfort with social engagement platforms.
Registration for the eight-week program opens Wednesday, May 13 with the fist session starting May 25.
This is completely free for eligible participants, and those interested can contact Leslie Murray by email at leslie.murray@nrt.ymca.ca or by phone at 905-372-9247 to register or for more information.
