Two new doctors are joining the Ganaraska Family Health Organization.
The West Northumberland Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee announced that Dr. Helena Whyte and Dr. Stephen Cornish are joining the community.
They will be taking over the entire patient roster of Dr. Paul Hazell who began his medical practice in Port Hope in the 70s.
Both doctors studied medicine at Western University and completed their family medicine residency in London.
Dr. Whyte completed a fellowship in obstetrics and women’s health in London and Chatham, and says she plans to deliver babies at Northumberland Hills Hospital in addition to her office-based practice.
Dr. Cornish was the chief family medical resident in 2016-2017 and has been practicing in London for the past three years, and will care for his patients admitted to NHH as well as palliative care.
The two doctors say they love the community and look forward to making Port Hope their home and raise their family here.
