Today is Excellent Educators Day, brought to you by Fleming College Muskoka-Kawarthas SSM!
It’s an exclusive look into the lives of some of Northumberland’s best and brightest educators, including Robert Kranendonk.
The Advertising, Marketing Communications – Creative Design program at Loyalist College offers students a unique learning experience that focuses on client-based projects, similar to working in the advertising/marketing industry.
Program co-ordinator, Robert Kranendonk, who worked to develop the new program, has been a professor at the college since 2003. He also has experience working as an art director in the advertising industry and teaching graphic design.
Kranendonk says it’s rewarding to have helped create several post-secondary programs in his teaching career, making a difference in the lives of students who choose to enter these programs.
Kranendonk says that offering the new program virtually, is allowing students to have a flexible schedule and learn in a way that works for them, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He adds that educators have the opportunity to inspire and teach their students skills that can be used in the workplace to be hired for a job or transferable skills that they can use in their own lives as well.
