The Northumberland OPP is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision.
On Saturday (June 5) around 8 am, the OPP received information from a motorist who had come across the scene of a collision on Harwood road between Pollock Rd and Daignault Rd, involving a motorcycle.
Police attended the scene and located the motorcycle and the driver in the northbound ditch along the roadway.
55-year-old John Merrett of Cobourg was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A post mortem examination will be conducted today (June 7) at the Ontario Coroner’s Office in Kingston.
