The Progressive Conservatives took 83 seats in the legislature to form a second majority government last week.
It was also the lowest voter turnout in history.
While the dismal turnout at the polls for election day may have come as a surprise with only 43 percent of Ontarians choosing to mark their ballots, Port Hope’s Mayor Bob Sanderson wasn’t surprised by the blue wave that swept the province.
Port Hope Mayor Bob Sanderson told us that he’s committed to working with the re-elected MPP David Piccini.
Piccini went on the record, during the run up to election, committing himself to making broadband connectivity and affordable housing his first priorities.
