As if the lure of playing with goats and other farm animals wasn’t enough, Haute Goat Farms in Port Hope has announced the newest addition to their property.
You can now play a round of disc golf on their full disc golf course.
Although they’re best know for holding walks through the woods with goats and alpacas, as well as other events involving the animals, the new course takes advantage of the large property on the farm.
Debbie Nightingale, the head goat herder at the farm, said her son put her on to the idea of building a course.
Nightingale said that the course fits in nicely with what they do at the farm.
She added that they’re planning on adding a way to work the animals into the disc golf experience.
The course was designed by Peterborough’s Darrell Bankes, a prominent name in disc golf course design.
Nightingale said they’ll have a house league available for anyone to sign up for called Fling’s House League. It’s named after one of their goats and now mascot for the course, Fling.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the course is on June 17, so you can get out and play a round of disc golf at Haute Goat Farms in Port Hope as soon as you can.
