If you want to visit the fairs you remember as a kid, the Campbellford Fair is the one for you.
This weekend starting Friday, August 5 at 6pm and continuing through till Sunday night, the Campbellford fair will have all kinds of events including tractor pulls, demolition derbies, a midway, and agricultural exhibitions.
Heather Owens, President of the Campbellford-Seymour Agricultural Society spoke to us about the fair.
She said the pandemic has made them unable to hold the fair, but they’re back and ready for this year.
Today a large number of people associate fairs with midways, food, and demolitions derbies. While the Campbellford Fair does have all of those, Owens said the agricultural aspect is still the core of the fair.
According to Owens, the Campbellford Fair has been operating since 1854, or 168 years. She said they make sure the fair continues to honour the agricultural history of the area.
The fireworks show to open up the fair is on Friday at 10pm. For a list of all of the events, you can check out www.campbellfordfair.ca.
