Organized by Cobourg Fire’s Acting Captain Matt Diminie and Constable Ryan Rinneard from the Cobourg Police, this inaugural event was a big hit.
Fire Chief Ellard Beaven told us more.
The evening started with a Touch-a-Truck event in front of the C-C-C showcasing vehicles from the fire and police departments but things really got started when Chief Beaven dropped the puck.
Beaven dropped a donut down on the ice instead of a puck but the police services squad took it in stride and everyone had a good laugh.
Ultimately, the big winners were Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northumberland who’ll receive approximately $3,000 in donations to help with their work in the community.
Chief Beaven says they’re already planning for next year.
The game ended in a 5-5 draw, and both teams agreed it was a great way to finish.
