Brighton Minor Hockey is asking our community to help fill the shelves at the food bank this weekend.
Admission to public skating at the arena is a non-perishable food donation this Friday night at 7 p.m. Everyone’s welcome to enjoy a skate with Santa, Christmas refreshments and more.
Councillor Mark Bateman says minor hockey is proud to once again support a cause that helps so many people, especially during the holidays.
He says the canteen will be open, with hot chocolate.
The CP Holiday Train donated $4,000 to the cause last week. The food bank also received $2,500 in cash donations (including $1,000 from the Rotary Club) and about 1,500 pounds of food.
