On July 16th Habitat for Humanity Northumberland moved their 10th family into Port Hope.
That means 55 families in the area have been given the keys to their own home since 1998.
Meaghan MacDonald, Habitat for Humanity Northumberland Executive Director, spoke at Port Hope Council on Tuesday night (Aug. 7) and said home ownership is a dream and for some seems out of reach. A completion of a subdivision in Port Hope just means more dreams have come true for a 10th family there.
MacDonald presented a thank you letter to council for the partnership that started back in 2005.
Port Hope Mayor Bob Sanderson also thanked Habitat for the partnership.
