Miles Bowman is one of 11 candidates hoping to nab a seat on Port Hope Council.
Bowman moved to the municipality seven years ago with his husband Jason, and says he loved the small town feel and the welcoming community.
Bowman says he’s excited to be running, and he made the choice after discussing it for quite some time.
Bowman says he decided it would be a good thing to do which was reinforced by having his young son, because he wanted him to grow up in a household where he saw that if you want a community to be better, you have to go out and make it happen.
Bowman says if elected, he’d like to focus on waterfront management, clarifying municipal policy and increase collaboration between the people of Port Hope, municipal staff and council.
He has a PhD in behavioural neuroscience and specializes in human movement, gender and leadership and is currently working with Trent University and UOIT.
