A 16-year-old from Trenton was due in Belleville court Monday (May 14), after two County schools went into lockdown on Friday.
Prince Edward OPP say the Trenton boy will appear in Belleville court on charges of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and harassing communications.
A school in Picton was on lockdown this morning but has since been lifted.
Around 11am (on Friday, May 11th), OPP Prince Edward Detachment were alerted of an ongoing incident at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute.
Staff at the school were aware of threatening messages directed towards a student at the school and the building was placed in lockdown mode and was then changed to hold and secure mode.
The suspect was not on the school premises and police were able to identify and locate the suspect via social media posts.
A 16 year old male of Trenton was taken into custody with the investigation ongoing.
